CCS Production Calendar
Course schedulers are expected to input credit bearing course meeting patterns within CCS, and in accordance with the CCS production calendar each academic term. Accurate input and adherence to the production calendar will enable timely and adequate classroom scheduling by HSCS. The production calendar includes the following actions:
CCS Roll Forward
- Class sections roll forward from like-term to like-term (e.g., Fall 24 to Fall 25; Spring 25 to Spring 26).
- Roll forward includes rolling of CCS Notes and Room Characteristics from prior like-term.
- Class sections that do not roll forward are:
- Canceled sections
- Tentative sections
- UGRD Topics classes
- Classes with zero enrollment (excluding directed studies and research)
- Undergraduate classes scheduled in Extended Regular Session (session 011)
CCS Open - Initial Build
- CCS pages open to class schedulers to create the initial build of the class schedule.
- Schedulers should accurately update all course section meeting information within PS/CCS each term.
- College administrators should review departmental schedules for adherence to the University standard meeting times and the University’s class scheduling policy.
- Additional resources are provided on OCM’s “Classes” page and OCM’s Collaborative Class Scheduling Page.
- Reference the CCS User Guides as needed.
- Health Sciences Classroom Services strives to accommodate standard and non-standard curriculum scheduling needs. However, deviations from the standard time blocks may result in inconsistent classroom assignments, and inefficient room use.
CCS Closed
- During CCS closed, College administrators/schedulers are not able to update courses in PS/CCS.
- Classroom assignments via Astra Academics will occur by HSCS. Space assignments may also occur among other departments when CCS is closed.
CCS Open - Emergent Changes
- CCS reopens for class schedulers to make final adjustments to classes before registration begins.
- If changes are made to a course within CCS after a classroom has been assigned, the classroom will be removed from the course. Schools should notify HSCS if classrooms need to be reinstated.
- HSCS requires submission of a HSCS - Course Placement Change Request form for any change to a course section, following the production calendar CCS Closed date for that term, if that course requires action from HSCS scheduling staff.
Request a HSCS Classroom

HSCS scheduling works to ensure that, in addition to standard course schedules, the non-standard & specialized course scheduling needs are also met. This requires thorough communication of course placement requirements.
Following the CCS initial build of your class schedule, and prior to the CCS closed date, communicate your HSCS course placement requests.
- Email [email protected] to communicate course placement requests.
- For courses with multiple meeting patterns and varying / unique placement needs (capacity, room features, location, modality, technology, etc.) which cannot be relayed accurately via CCS Room Characteristic selections.
- Share your school’s course placement request worksheet with [email protected].
- Ask [email protected] to create a course placement request worksheet.
- Select the CCS Room Characteristic “Classrm Record (Hlth Sci Only)” for Mediaspace recording technology requirements.
- Delayed CCS course set up or changes to HSCS course placement request submissions must be submitted via the HSCS - Course Placement Change Request form.
Spring Break Course Placement
- Currently, the Astra scheduling system cancels CCS course meeting patterns during the University’s official spring break week.
- Schools hosting in-person class sessions during spring break week must submit an Astra event request to reserve a classroom for those meeting dates. We recommend submitting these event requests prior to CCS closed.
