Path for Success (on the Day)
✓ Visit the Classroom Early
- Arrive 10–15 minutes before class begins.
- Familiarize yourself with the room layout and technology.
- Locate the classroom support phone and emergency contact information.
✓ Power On the Classroom System
- Turn on the classroom technology using the touch panel or control system.
- Confirm the display, projector, or monitors are functioning properly.
- Verify the correct input source is selected.
✓ Test Your Presentation
- Connect your laptop or use the classroom computer.
- Open your presentation, videos, or other instructional materials.
- Confirm audio and video playback work as expected.
- Test any adapters or accessories you'll be using.
✓ Check Audio
- Verify microphones are powered on and have sufficient battery life, if applicable.
- Test audio playback through the classroom speakers.
- Confirm volume levels are appropriate throughout the room.
✓ Prepare for Hybrid or Recorded Classes
If using Zoom or classroom recording:
- Sign in to the appropriate applications.
- Confirm your camera and microphone are selected.
- Test screen sharing.
- Verify recording settings before students arrive.
✓ Confirm Classroom Resources
- Locate markerboards, markers, erasers, or other available teaching resources.
- Arrange movable furniture, if appropriate for your teaching activity.
- Ensure walkways and exits remain clear.
✓ Have a Backup Plan
Technology is reliable, but it's always helpful to be prepared.
- Save presentation files in more than one location (e.g., OneDrive and a USB drive).
- Bring any required adapters or charging cables.
- Know how to quickly access alternative instructional materials if needed.
